I am professional stone carver.
Making art came to me in kindergarten and then again in the middle of my life.
I have driven stock cars, been a business owner of a sticks and bricks business and have always considered myself a life long gear head. Start your engine and I can probably tell you what kind of car you drive.
A constant undercurrent has been my love of art and the details in a really interesting piece. I do paint but, being colour blind and having a good handle on the fact that 1/16 of an inch can make all the difference in having proper proportion makes carving my main artistic outlet.
I am so lucky to have the world renown carver, Ben Henry as my mentor and friend. His influence has definitely effected my carvings and only in good ways.
I have evolved over the 10 plus years that I have been a professional artist. It never gets old to carve away boulders and turn them into bears or eagles or abstract pieces.
If you do what you love you will never work a day in your life.
That sentiment couldn’t be more true.
